Keeping Good Teachers

There's been a run of fantastic teachers leaving schools recently. They go on to higher jobs or some just want a change of scenery, and maybe better managers.

Schools need to do more to make their staff seem valued. Just saying the words don't add up to much.

I never understand how we've got to the point where teachers are given no time to do marking and preparation and are expected to do all this in their own time. Why do they let themselves be treated like this? They go out on strike as one when their money or pensions are threatened.
